A yummi yogi fan, Andrea from Texas, shows us that baking is not only about cookies . Andrea was kind enough to share her recipe and images of these fun yeast dough yogis. She baked them for a special event ; AFarewell-Party for our Dahn Yoga Master. We hope you try these too!

Recipes makes 20 yeast dough yogis.

Ingredients:

8 cup flour

2 tbsp sugar

5 tsp dry yeast

1 pinch of salt

1/3 stick butter

2 eggs

1 cup lukewarm milk

1 egg; beaten for brushing the figures before baking

5 Yummi Yogi cookie cutters

Steps:

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl with a lid. Add the eggs. Heat the milk (I always put the butter in, too.) and when lukewarm pour it in the bowl. Mix (you might need more milk, but start out with a lesser amount and then add) until the dough is soft, but not sticky.

Let the dough rise for about an hour (more never hurts) in a warm place.

Divide the risen dough in two (I’ll keep the “second half” in the bowl with lid closed.), roll out the dough about ½ inch thick.

Cut your yoga dough figures using the Yummi Yogi cookie cutters.

Place the yoga dough figures on a baking tray,

Brush them with the beaten egg. (Be careful not to spill egg on the tray, because then it becomes a workout to get the baked goods loose again!)

Bake at 350⁰ C for about 12 – 15 minutes (until golden brown).

Gluten free is becoming increasingly more popular. Not only due to the increasing number of people with gluten allergies and gluten intolerance, but because of the overall health benefits this kind of diet offers.

Foods with gluten are processed from wheat and other grains such as barley and rye. But wheat, barley and rye are healthy right? The unhealthy part comes when these grains are processed and mixed with preservative chemicals and artificial flavors. It’s these additions that make gluten bad for your system.

People are also falling in love with this gluten free regimen because when they cut gluten out of their diet, they are cutting things like breads, pastas and greasy fried foods and they begin consuming more fruits and vegetables by default.

Starting any new way of eating has its challenges and cutting staples that we grew up with like pasta and bread it can become even harder! That’s why it’s important to find interesting and engaging ways to stick to your new gluten free regimen!

By using Yummi Yogi yoga pose cookie cutters you can keep your new gluten free eating interesting. You can use Yummi Yogi cookie cutters to make fun fruit and vegetable cutouts. You can even use them to make delicious gluten free flatbreads.

Yoga Studios

You don’t have to be a workout wizard to know that it’s important to rehydrate after any workout including intense yoga workouts. After a workout at any of your favorite yoga studios around the world, the average person should drink between 16 and 24oz of water to make sure they are replacing what they lost. One great thing about our bodies is that we KEEP BURNING calories even after we’ve finished our workout. This makes for the perfect time to snack and replace some of the calories you burned!

If you own or run one or more yoga studios, you know the importance of both of these factors when it comes to keeping your yoga instructors and your yoga students safe and healthy. A great way to encourage this behavior is to keep water and other assorted healthy beverages available for sale in the lobby of yoga studios.

If you want to go the extra mile for your clients, you can have healthy snacks available for them to purchase on their way out! We suggest fresh fruit cut into the shapes of your favorite yoga poses using Yummi Yogi cookie cutters. Even gluten free or low fat cookies cut into yoga shapes would be a welcome snack after an intense yoga workout. Since you probably already have an array of yoga accessories for sale as well, why not add Yummi Yogi cookie cutters to your inventory?!

For more information on how to carry Yummi Yogi cookie cutters in your yoga studio please contact us here.
Step 1: Follow the instructions for the Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe. Instead of making cookie balls place the dough in on a cookie sheet.

Step 2: Spread the cookie dough onto a cookie sheet in a rectangle. Leave an inch or two around the edges for expansion.

Step 3: Bake according to instructions. Let cookie dough to completely cool.

Step 4: Spray the inside of each cookie cutter with oil to avoid the dough to stick to the cutter. Arrange your Yummi Yogi cookie cutters onto the dough and press down firmly. I like to then place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 1o min to ensure the dough is cool. If the dough is warm, the cookies will break apart.

Step 5: Start my removing any dough from around the outside of the cutters. Then remove the cookie cutters from the dough and enjoy!

We used our Yummi Yogi Cookie Cutter Tree Pose (Vrksasana). Hands down everyone loves this edible asana recipe! Have fun and add your favs into the mix.

Step 1: Mix all the dry ingredients together. Set aside.

Step 2: Combine the liquids and warm for 40 seconds.

Step 3: Combine and mix.

Combine the dry ingredients and set aside. Combine the liquids and warm for 40 seconds. Add the liquid to the dry mix and stir well. If the mix is too dry, add a little more warmed brown rice syrup. Place your Yummi Yogi cookie cutters on a baking sheet and fill with the granola. Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate for an hour. Remove the granola gently from the cutters by pulling the cookie cutter away from the granola, the granola should slide right out. Best if stored in refrigerator.

Yummi Yogi Valentine’s Day Cookie

Make sugar cookie recipe and divide dough into 2 sections. Add pink coloring to one half and red coloring to the other.

Place dough in between saran wrap and roll dough to 1/4″. Refrigerate dough until chill.

Roll out to 1/4″ thickness, this thickness works well.

Cut dough in strips and alternate dough colors. 7 each. .

Gently roll dough with rolling pin so strips join together. Place dough into freezer for 5 mins to chill the dough. This makes for easy cutting.

Remove top layer of saran wrap and cut cookie dough with Yummi Yogi cookie cutter.Pull away the excess dough around the cutter. Slide your hand under the saran wrap and lift up cookie cutter & dough. Remove saran wrap and place cutter on cookie sheet. (I like to use a silmat pad) Gently pull cookie cutter away from dough to release. Bake. Enjoy!
