Welcome to the first week of spring!
First and foremost, I want to express my sympathy for anyone being affected by COVID-19 or its ripple effects. This isn’t an easy time for anyone, and it is more important than ever to spend time doing things that help us stay grounded through all of this uncertainty.
Make a genuine effort to look for silver linings. Instead of thinking about the things you may have lost in the short-term, think about what you have gained.
Perhaps you have more time to do the things you love. As you may have guessed, I am going to use this as an opportunity to fuel my two greatest passions – yoga and baking:
We all know how quickly time passes, especially when we have our “head in the game.” Working moms, business travelers, corporate professionals, and local trades… this is YOUR chance to slow down and give yourself the time and space you deserve.
This season is also the perfect opportunity to take a personal inventory and do some spring cleaning. I don’t just mean whipping out the cleaning supplies and getting rid of physical clutter. Rather, to thoughtfully reflect on how 2020 is going for you so far and consider distancing yourself from the people or activities that don’t align with your values.
Use this time to declutter your mind and focus on your physical and mental health. Balance your diet so you go into each day feeling more nourished and energized than ever. Making a lifestyle change may seem trivial right now, but investing in yourself will help prepare you for the future by keeping you strong, productive, and accountable.
On a final note, I encourage you to share kindness, express gratitude, and spend as much time as possible with your loved ones. Play, dance, decorate, or simply curl up on the couch for a family movie night. Nurture your relationships and be of service to people around you. We’re all in this together, and I truly believe it is our passions and connections that will keep our spirits alive.
